Zulu Kingdom Trails @ Belvedere Game Reserve is an exciting new mountain biking destination near Pongola in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal province. Nestled in the beautiful heartland of the historic Zulu Kingdom, and South Africa’s famed big game country. It offers a mountain biking experience unlike anything you have ever experienced.
You can expect to ride some 120 km jeep track trails while enjoying the peace and quiet of the serene bushveld – immersing yourself in nature and riding with buffalo, kudu and giraffe. After a long day of riding you can enjoy a splash in the pool while enjoying a drink, or watch the sun make way for the African night sky next to a hard-wood campfire. After a decadent three-course dinner you can finally fall asleep to the gentle sounds of night in the bushveld in the superbly appointed lodge or campsite.
Vulture hide
Located within the game reserve, the vulture hide provides a safe and controlled environment for these magnificent birds to feed and thrive. The vulture restaurant ensures a regular supply of food, attracting vultures and marabou storks from far and wide. As guests watch from the hide, they can witness the impressive feeding behavior of these endangered species.
Birding
Belvedere Game Reserve is a proud member of the Zululand IBA (Important bird and bio-diversity area). The reserve has got a specie list of birds of just under 200 with the pink breasted twinspot nesting here. It is the furthest west it was ever recorded nesting.
Exotic and Rare Game
Belvedere Game Reserve is breeding with the rare black impala and golden wildebeest to protect the natural diversity of these species. It is a natural colour variance occurring in the wild, but hardly ever seen by man.

Set in the heart of the lush bushveld, Belvedere Lodge is situated in the center of the game reserve, allowing for easy access to the abundant wildlife that are roaming our grounds.
